Student Representatives
Hi, I am Racha Bai-iche. I am a bachelor student at Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane (Morocco), and now an exchange student at Roskilde Universitet (Denmark). I study business administration: finance and international business. And I am interested in many other things ranging from philosophy to world politics to environmental issues. I also love biking, traveling, volunteering, and cooking.
I think of CEA as an impressive alliance, and the 8 member universities even more so. I am thus hoping to revivify it in my home university, as its representative, the best way I can.
With the book club, I hope to meet new people, make new friends, read more together and share as well as gain new knowledge.
Hi, I am Adrijana Turajlic. At the moment I am studying Communication and Cultural Encounters at RUC, as a bachelor student. I have been a part of CEA for two years now, and I am Student Assistant for CEA at RUC. The thing I love most about CEA is student engagement and the opportunity to meet people from all around the world.
I am interested in language learning and arts and I hope to make some of these projects happen.
Hi, I am Carmen Bulac (she/her), a Bachelor student at Roskilde University. I am in my final semester in International Studies and Cultural Encounters with a focus on gender studies and decoloniality. I am interested in making space for those who are excluded or invisible in society. I went on a CEA exchange semester at Al Akhawayn University in Morocco and it was the best part of my studies. I believe engaging with students and professors from other universities around the world can be very insightful, especially for students in international programs. To me, CEA represents the opportunity to have these global discussions.
Language Matchmaker

Today there are many online services where you can learn languages, many of those are not free, and those which are, are limited. Practicing by speaking to your fellow students might be a nice upgrade if you already have some knowledge. Or you can just start learning by listening to some key phrases and practicing them. Learning from a native speaker will not only get you proficiency, but also knowledge about a culture.
We are searching for a working group, to set up this project. We have ideas and plans, but we are missing a nice working group and we are hoping to get you interested.

How can you move the walls?

Many of us still need to spend a lot of time inside. However, that does not mean that our world must stop or even that we can not travel. “How can you move the walls?”, is a call for submission where you can show us how can you travel within your home. Are you moving the walls by entering the virtual reality, are you drawing yourself in memories, books…? How do you move the walls and create a whole another world for you? It is up to you to tell us the story. You can choose the format, whether it is a short movie, video, poem, painting, etc.… We will create an online exhibition for now and post all your works on our social media and website.

Book Club

We are all familiar with the notion of the book club and while we are keeping our distance and staying safe and at home, why not as well read together. Since we are from different countries it would be also nice to get to know each other’s cultures. Thus, we would like to read different pieces from different countries and get to know the most achieved writers from all over the world. Or any other book that you are passionate about or willing to talk about. It is all up to us.
We are just waiting for you to sign up and we can start.

Global Discussions on Social Movements

​
We all study at universities with the ultimate goal of innovation and progress. We all aspire for a better world but how can we actually achieve social change? What drives social movements? Where do we find the motivation to push through all the obstacles in order to pursue social change? How is a social movement possible logistically speaking? How do we find the focus when there’s so much inequality in all aspects of our societies? What are the changes and the small or big steps taken in other parts of the world that we can take in our communities and our own work at the local level?
This set of semi-academic discussions aims to touch on the intersection of social change with social categories such as sustainability, gender, race, class, etc. There will be a guest speaker invited from one of the CEA universities with practical knowledge and experience of working in social entrepreneurship, NGOs, and social movements and a time allocated for open discussions and networking.
